Courtney Collins & Little Junebugs | Pasadena Photographer

September 15, 2012

Little Junebugs is an amazing space for anyone creative.  Courtney and Brian have done a beautiful job of creating a wonderful, whimsical, inspiring place for children to come and create art.  They also have an awesome book selection and fun gifts too!
Two months ago, I walked into Little Junebugs to discuss partnering with Courtney Collins. Every time I stop in, I walk away inspired (and a bit more glittery, literally).  Every month there is an adult crafting night, so it isn’t solely for kids. 🙂  Within a week of my visit back in July, we came up with the HeArts & Crafts Project.  HeArts & Crafts is a monthly crafting event.  During the event, kids (and adults) make canvases, I photograph the creative process, and a portion of the proceeds go to Pablove Shutterbugs.  Pablove Shutterbugs teaches children living with cancer to express and develop their creative voices through the art of photography.
Our next event is at the end of November from 12pm – 3pm.  You can find out more details by going to LittleJunebugs.com, click on “heArts.”
Courtney’s energy and creativity is infectious.  She makes me look unproductive, which for those of you that know me, know that the last thing I am is unproductive.  I have had a wonderful time photograph all of her various blog posts.  Below are a few of her most recent ones.
gogramgo.com – monthly crafting posts
rhubieandrhett.com – digital magazine launching October, includes Courtney’s amazing DIY Halloween Costumes
With all this creative energy floating around, you can imagine my delight when Courtney asked me to take some portraits of her.  Words cannot even begin to describe how fun and playful this shoot was for me.

Our session included….

Yellow Umbrellas

Jumping

Marc Jacobs Rain Boots

No Rain

Sunflowers

Gingham

Jumping Jellyfish Mini Sessions | Pasadena Child Photographer

May 11, 2011

I had a wonderful time meeting some beautiful families last Saturday.

A big thank you to Jumping Jellyfish for helping us put this together 🙂

Here are a couple of my favorite images…

Hazel Turns 6 | Los Angeles Child Photographer

October 30, 2010

A few weeks back Hazel turned six.  I cannot believe that it has already been 4 years since I first met Steve, Henya, and Hazel.  I first ran into them at the Silver Lake Farmer’s Market.  Hazel was shy to the point of being terrified when I said hello to her, and Henya was pregnant with Lena (yellow princess dress below).  Hazel is no longer shy, and it has been a pleasure to watch her grow up over these past few years.  It really puts the whole “time flies” thing into perspective when you watch a child grow from year to year.

The delicious ice cream cake pictured below is homemade.  It was delicious.  🙂

I have been trying to challenge myself when photographing on my own.  This time I only  had two rolls of film to shoot, so I had to make the most of it.  Below are a bunch of my favorites from Hazel’s day.

Happy Halloween everyone!

Jumping Jellyfish Photo Booth Fun! | Pasadena Child Photographer

September 13, 2010

I had a wonderful evening over at Jumping Jellyfish on Friday during One Colorado’s Fashion’s Night Out! 🙂  I met lots of lovely people, and I got to take photographs of some super cute little ones.   I want to give a huge thank you to Ann & David, and everyone who helped out with this evening!

Here are some of the photos from the evening…

The adults had to have some fun too!

My assistant for the evening was a lovely miYim stuffed elephant.  I love this company!  They have a wide variety of products, and they are all organic.  Plus, they are very soft.  They just came out with a Dr.Seuss line too!

A special thank you to Amber over at Whisker Workers!  Your mustaches were loads of fun and very durable!

I know this next image has nothing to do with photo booths, but I just had to share it.  This may be the cutest little onesie I have ever seen 🙂

Original Kids Display at Jumping Jellyfish! | Los Angeles Child Photographer

February 22, 2010

Today the display went up over at Jumping Jellyfish!  They are located at the fabulous ONE COLORADO in Old Town Pasadena @ 34 Hugus Allley, Pasadena, CA, 91103.  If you are in Pasadena, please stop by for a visit.  It is a great store, and there are lots of great books and clothing!  Below are some photographs of the display, along with some photographs of the store.  Ann, the owner, has so many adorable items.  It was impossible for me to walk out of the door without snapping a few shots!

I hope you all are having a happy Monday!
