Last Sunday was a bit crazy in terms of weather. It was hot (80) near my home, and mid-winter (California Winter) in Venice. It was chilly and overcast, but it was perfect for photos. :)

My first meeting with this family occurred during last year’s Tales & Toys Fall Mini Sessions. I had a wonderful time with N, T, and their Aunt. This year I had the pleasure of photographing the kids with their mom as well as their aunt and grandmother. I also met Charlie the dog too. There is a lot of love in this family, and it is beautiful to see it come across so honestly in the photographs.

Two weeks ago, I had a maternity session with Kristine and Family. Five days after our session, little Stella arrived three weeks early.

I had a wonderful afternoon meeting Stella last weekend. Here are a few favorites from the shoot.

Tales & Toys Photo Contest | El Segundo Child Photographer

I had a wonderful time photographing and meeting families last weekend at the Tales & Toys mini-sessions event. A huge thank you to Elizabeth over at Tales & Toys and all the wonderful families who came out!

Elizabeth and I are holding a contest for the top image from each session. The three images with the most votes will be displayed at Tales & Toys. The winners will receive a free 8 x 12 print of the winning image.

The Contest Details:

- All images will be listed with a number.

- Each comment counts as one vote. Please refer to the number when you leave a comment.

- We will total the votes from this blog and from our Facebook Fan Pages to decide the winning images.

Voting ends Sunday, October 23rd at 7pm.

Winners will be announced on Tuesday, October 25th.

Expanding Family | Los Angeles Child Photographer

I fell in love with Sophia the first time I met her back in 2009 during an instore promotion with Janie and Jack. I secretly hoped her parents would contact me again. :) A few months later, I was asked to photograph Sophia’s first birthday. It was a beautiful day after a long week of non-stop rain. Since our first meeting I have become good friends with her parents. Every session is fun and carefree. Sophia has a very strong will, and it is a pleasure to watch her grow into it.

A few months ago, Kristine mentioned they were expecting another child. It was a delight to have the chance to photograph her family again. It is a good thing we had the session when we did, because their little one arrived three weeks early (less than a week after our session)!

I cannot wait to meet her!
